She began her own work with sacred plant medicines in early 2007 in the Peruvian Amazon\, and has since studied the plants and done dietas under the guidance of several shamans and teachers in Peru\, Colombia\, Ecuador and Brazil. She currently studies with Kichwa maestro don Luis Andi and she has completed several plant dietas with the Shipibo and others in Peru. After intensive personal work over a number of years\, she heeded the call to introduce others to this path. She has now been holding retreats for the past 10 years and has been on the spiritual healing path for the past 20+ years. Hope you will join us. \nThe journey is accompanied by holistic cuisine. The meals will stay strictly within the diet directions and will be based on deep passion and knowledge of plant science and human health. Organic\, fresh and creative meals will balance and support the energy of the process that our bodies\, minds\, souls and spirits altogether need to transform and grow. \nFind out more about Isa and One Light Tribe at https://onelighttribe.com/ \nTo register\nPlease write to peacetempleretreats@gmail.com to inquire for details and on how to register. \nRetreat includes all meals and private bed in our cozy dorms. SUMMARY:5Rhythms: Metaphor and Mystery
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, July 17 – Sunday\, July 20\nREGISTER\n \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nIn this retreat\, we will explore the mystery of the embodied spirit through the 5Rhythms movement meditation practice.  In most contexts of life\, we are bound and masked by social convention: having to look good or make a particular impression.  When we give our own bodies permission to move freely\, our being can open to vast and mysterious landscapes of spirit and ecstasy.  Moving from the depths of consciousness\, our dance becomes a metaphor for our life and experience.  T`his workshop is an invitation to explore these landscapes together. \nMystery of perception – What lies at the threshold of self and sensation? As we surrender to the dance of inner and outer experiences\, boundaries dissolve. How do we discern the whispers of our soul from the echoes of the world? We open to the witness at the center of our being.  \nMystery of impulse – What drives us to act\, to take the next step\, to bring our intentions to life? What part of us generates the will to move\, to push beyond resistance\, and to shape our desires into reality? We seek the spark at the heart. \nMystery of emptiness – when we dance to the untamed edge\, and empty out\, who is the one that remains?  Why does the unconscious\, entranced\, essence feel ecstatic? We seek to step outside the fractal labyrinths of mind. \nMystery of inspiration – From where does the soul receive inspiration for play and creativity? What wind stirs it\, bringing to life sparks of artistry? We seek to unlock the creativity that is truest to ourselves. \nMystery of spirit –  how is it that dancing deeply\, inwardly\, into our own dance is what allows for greater connection with others?  Where does the sense of a broader spiritual connection emerge from?  We seek that way out which is the way in\, deeper into ourselves. \nOur dances on the dance floor are a metaphor for our life.  Whether we are tired or inspired\, shy or open\, connected or in solitude\, our dances are our lives\, distilled.  \nCome explore your body in movement as a metaphor for your spirit. \nRecharge in the sauna\, swim in the pond\, enjoy nature walks and take in the sun\, while our chef prepares a delicious selection of healthy meals to complement your rejuvenating experience at Peace Temple. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the 5Rhythms\n5Rhythms is a dynamic movement practice developed by Gabrielle Roth. It is a practice of being in your body that ignites creativity\, connection\, and community. While a seemingly simple process\, the 5Rhythms practice facilitates deep and unending explorations\, moving the dancer beyond self-imposed limitations and isolation into new depths of creativity and connection. For more information see 5rhythms.com \n\nSchedule\nThursday\n\n\n5:00 – 7:00 pm – Landing/Arrival\n7:00 pm – Dinner\n8:00 pm – Opening Circle / Introductions\n9:00 pm – 5Rhythms Movement Meditation: Dance and Workshop Exploration\n10:30 pm – Quiet Time\n\n\nFriday\n\n\n8:30 – 9:30 am – Breakfast\n9:30 – 10:00 am – Personal time\n10:00 am- 1:00 pm – 5Rhythms Movement Meditation: Dance and Workshop Exploration\n1:00- 2:00 pm – Light lunch\n2:00 – 5:00 pm – 5Rhythms Movement Meditation: Dance and Workshop Exploration\n5:00 – 6:00 pm – Personal time\n6:00 – 7:30 pm – Dinner\n7:30 pm – Fire Circle\n10:30 pm – Quiet Time\n\n\nSaturday\n\n\n8:30 – 9:30 am – Breakfast\n9:30 – 10:30 am – Sound bath\n10:30 am- 1:00 pm – 5Rhythms Movement Meditation: Dance and Workshop Exploration\n1:00- 2:00 pm – Lunch\n2:00 – 4:00 pm – Personal time\n4:00 – 5:30 pm – Central American Sauna\n6:00 – 7:00 pm – Dinner\n7:30 – 10:30 pm – Night Dance: 5Rhythms Movement Meditation\n10:30 pm – Quiet Time\n\n\nSunday\n\n\n8:30 – 9:30 am – Breakfast\n9:30 – 10:30 am – Sound bath\n11:00 am- 1:00 pm – Dance\, Closing circle and sharing\n1:00- 2:00 pm – Lunch\n2:00 – 3:00 pm – Departure\n\nFacilitators\n\n \n \n \n \n Aaron Lifshin\n \n \n \n \n \n Tina Marinic\n \n \n \n \n \n Vladimir Kuperman\n \n \n\n  \n\nAaron Lifshin has been a 5Rhythms dancer since 2010\, and has been teaching the 5Rhythms since 2016 in San Francisco\, Boston and Black Rock City. Aaron brings an intellectual curiosity to the dance practice and\, after these many years\, remains deeply fascinated by the miracle of liberation through embodiment.  Coming from an intellectual upbringing\, he has moved through many worlds: an Ivy League college\, the high-tech corporate sphere\, the arena of politics and activism\, and now runs his own software business. Aaron is part of a 5Rhythms family with wife Tina and little dancing baby Albert\, who could twerk before he could walk.  The 5Rhythms dance floor is a true home and source of inspiration.  Aaron’s 5Rhythms teaching is grounded\, playful and occasionally unpredictable.\n \nTina Marinic – based in San Francisco\, completed the 5Rhythms teacher training in 2022. This practice has been a transformative journey for Tina\, helping her feel more at home in her body and shed the burden of perfectionism and body image insecurities. Through dance\, she’s come to cherish the beauty and mystery of the body. Grateful for the simple gifts of a beating heart and breath\, Tina now guides others through 5Rhythms to connect with their hearts and embrace their authentic selves in all their complexity. \nVladimir Kuperman is the creator of Peace Temple – a spiritual retreat center in the beautiful Catskill Mountains\, devoted to creating and holding peaceful and inspiring community events\, where creativity\, spiritual growth\, sustainability\, respect for nature\, and respect for each other are practiced. Goenka. She learned Anapana\, Vipassana and Metta meditation techniques and attended and did service for many retreats in this tradition over the years. Olga has been following the Buddhist path to awakening very diligently\, practicing sitting meditation several hours each day for many years\, with the basis of the most fundamental principles of sila (5 precepts)\, which is essential for achieving good samadhi (mind concentration). \nFour years ago Olga connected with the monastics in Theravada Buddhist tradition and discovered a large library of books and Dhamma talks explaining the path to awakening from perspectives renounced teachers of advanced monastic practitioners. \nRecently Olga traveled to Thailand\, a Buddhist country that preserved the Dhamma knowledge and wisdom very well\, and is also is a home to many monasteries and enlightened teachers. Olga spent time in a monastery in Thailand\, Wat Marp Jan\, studying with monastics and learning their way in order to dive deeper into the meditation practice. \nOlga has a close connection with the Empty Cloud monastery in New Jersey\, whose abbot\, Bhante Suddhaso (who has been in robes for 20 years)\, became a true friend and a guide in a more advanced meditation practice. \nVladimir Kuperman started practicing meditation in 2006 after returning from a transformational trip to Ladakh\, a small country bordering Tibet in the Himalayan Mountains\, and  heartfelt teaching of the Dalai Lama in the northern India. \nVladimir has attended New York Insight Meditation center for many years while living in NYC\, learning breath concentration meditation along with walking meditation and loving kindness meditation from many prominent teachers. There he also learned the importance of Sangha – a spiritual community that supports each others path. \nVladimir’s meditation practice played an integral role in establishment of Peace Temple – a spiritual retreat center in the beautiful Catskill Mountains\, devoted to creating and holding peaceful and inspiring community events\, where creativity\, spiritual growth\, sustainability\, respect for nature\, and respect for each other are practiced. \nBesides hosting the retreat\, Vladimir will lead morning yoga\, loving kindness (Meta) meditation and Walking meditation from Theravada Buddhist tradition. SUMMARY:4-Day Visionary Art Seminar Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, June 12 – Sunday\, June 15\nREGISTER\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\nJoin us at Peace Temple for this unique opportunity to learn painting with one of the leading modern visionary art artists\, Olga Klimova. This 4-day retreat is perfect both for experienced artists as well as beginners. All art supplies are provided. \nRecharge in the Central American sauna\, swim in the pond\, enjoy nature walks and take in the sun\, while our chef prepares a delicious selection of healthy meals to complement your rejuvenating experience at Peace Temple. \n\n\nWorkshops description\n\nThe students will learn to start their paintings in quick and fun ways with acrylics while getting complex organic and very detailed natural patterns which helps boost creativity and vision. Different methods of application of the first layer of white acrylic paint over black background will be introduced during this workshop. Painting with different media\, pouring paint mixed with water and working with gravity\, decalcomania techniques using acetate and soft plastic\, subtraction method\, using different types of brushes for different effects\, using spray bottle\, water resistant spray – all the techniques and media will be shown\, making painting a playful\, meditative and (an) enjoyable experience. \nThe second layer is applied in the form of acrylic glaze over the first layer of whites after it dries. The next layer is painting in building up the whites over a color glaze. Switching back and forth between the layers of semi-transparent whites and color glazes we start seeing the desired effect of this mixed technique of painting as well as pulling shapes and meaning out of emerging patterns. \nThe students can start painting a portrait (from a reference photo that they can bring with them to the seminar) on top of their backgrounds if they wish to learn how to paint a  realistic face while leaving some of the transparencies visible. They will be introduced to working with oils and learn to mix realistic skin tones. Those who wish to keep their work abstract may continue working with glazes and transparencies and see what shapes the painting uncovers on its own. \n \nAbout painting with light technique\nPainting with Light workshop incorporates modified elements of the painting technique known as Mischetechnik or mix technique\, which is a term of using various methods of layering paint\, including the use of different substances.  It is particularly suited for visionary painting because instead of shading the darks as in traditional painting\, this technique uses a different method of painting the lights over a color background. The light coming through many layers of transparent color glazes and white layers in between them creates an effect of a painted object being multidimensional and lit from the inside. \nThe technique was reinvented by Austrian artist Ernst Fuchs\, one of the living elders of the visionary art movement. His impact upon the contemporary visionary art scene cannot be understated. The quality and reception of his work as well as the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism has inspired many people worldwide. Modern visionary masters like Robert Venosa\, Martina Hoffmann\, Amanda Sage and Laurence Caruana were all trained with him. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRetreat schedule\n\n\nThursday \n\n\n3:00pm – 7:00pm – Landing/Arrival\n7:15 pm – Dinner\n9:00 pm – Opening Fire circle / Introductions \n11:00 pm – Rest\n\nFriday \n\n\n8:00 – 9:00 am – Meditation for boosting creativity \n10:00 – 11:00 am – Breakfast\n11:00 am – 1:00 pm – Lecture/Presentation on Mische/Mixed Technique\n1:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Studio Time: Demo of the making the background (first layer); first glaze application\, start building up the whites\n3:00 – 4:00 pm – Lunch\n4:00 – 7:00 pm – Studio time: second layer (second glaze)\, adding the design to the    background\, learning about transparencies\, building up the shapes\n7:00 pm – Dinner\n9:00 pm – Sound Bath / Fire circle \n11:00 pm – Rest\n\n\nSaturday \n\n\n8:00 – 9 am – Short morning yoga (stretching) / Meditation \n10:00 – 11:00 am – Breakfast\n11:00 am – 1:00 pm – Lecture/Presentation on Mische/Mixed Technique for late arrival students\, the rest will continue working on their pieces. \n1:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Studio Time: Demo on mixing the skin tones and painting  the face\, while keeping the transparencies\, introduction to oils\n3:00 – 4:00 pm – Lunch\n4:00 – 7:00 pm – Studio time: continue with the glazes and whites in between while practicing skin tones and learning about color and optical grays\n7:00 pm – Dinner\n9:00 pm – Central American Sauna\n11:00 pm – Rest\n\n\nSunday \n\n\n8:00 – 9:00 am – Gentle yoga/meditation\n9:00 – 10:00 am – Breakfast\n10:00 am – 3:00 pm – Studio time\n3:00 – 4:00 pm – Lunch / Closing circle and sharing\n4:00 pm – Departure\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFacilitators\n\n \n \n \n \n Olga Klimova\n \n \n \n \n \n Vladimir Kuperman\n \n \n\n\n\nOlga Klimova – Visionary Artist \n\n\nOlga Klimova is a self-taught visionary artist whose creative process serves as a catalyst for personal transformation and social change. DESCRIPTION:Friday\, May 23 – Monday\, May 26\nREGISTER\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\nLearn\, experience\, play\, and connect through the medium of Japanese inspired rope bondage. This weekend retreat\, designed for all levels of experience\, explores intimacy\, connectivity\, and creativity within the realm of Shibari\, movement practice\, and alternative community building. \nRecharge in the sauna\, swim in the pond\, enjoy nature walks and take in the sun\, while our chef prepares a delicious selection of healthy meals to complement your rejuvenating experience at Peace Temple. \n\n\nRetreat program\n\n\n\n\nSpend the Memorial Day Weekend in nature and among old and new friends learning and exploring the intricacies of Japanese inspired rope bondage. The retreat will start with an opening circle to share and set intentions for the weekend\, and to learn more about each participant and what draws them to this art form. \nSaturday morning will start with a gentle Yoga practice\, followed by a hearty and healthy breakfast to fuel up for a day of rope.  The day will start with two class options— an absolute beginner rope class\, for those with no existing knowledge of this practice\, and an intermediate level class for those with an existing practice. After a break for lunch\,  there will be another mixed level class\, as well as an opportunity to gather in the sauna\, followed by dinner\, to gently transition into the more social environment of the evening.  There will be a fire circle and quiet open rope space for anyone who would like to continue to tie into the evening. \nSunday morning will begin with a meditation and sound healing\, followed by breakfast.  After breakfast\, there will again be an option for two different rope classes of differing levels and subjects.  Afterwards we gather for lunch\, followed by an open rope space\, with an optional guided group improvisation activity. Sunday evening will feature two performances\, and time to connect with other attendees before settling in to rest for the evening. \nMonday will start with a gentle movement practice\, followed by a nutritious breakfast. Our last class block of the weekend will feature an all level class\, followed by time to pack up belongings and reset the space. We’ll close our weekend with a group lunch\, and a time to come together one last time and share thoughts and experiences and inspirations from throughout the weekend. \nAll levels of experience with rope bondage and Shibari are welcomed at this retreat. All classes and open spaces are optional\, and we encourage everyone to participate in as much group activity as feels comfortable. For those with experience with suspension\, there will be several available outdoor hardpoints for use throughout the weekend. \nExact schedule and class descriptions will be announced in the coming weeks. \n\nTentative Retreat schedule\n\nFriday \n\n\n3:00pm – 7:00pm – Landing/Arrival\n7:00 pm – Dinner\n9:00 pm – Opening Fire circle / introductions / Weekend Guideleines\n11:00 pm – Rest\n\n\nSaturday \n\n\n9:00 – 10:15 am – Yoga\n10:30 – 11:30 am – Breakfast\n11:30 am – 1:30 pm – Class session 1\n1:30 – 3:00 pm – Open Rope Space / personal time\n3:00 – 4:00 pm – Lunch\n4:00 – 6:00 pm – Class session 2 \n7:30 – 8:30 pm – Dinner\n9:00 – 10:30- pm – Evening fire circle / suspension demo \n11:30 pm – Rest / Quiet Rope Open Space\n\n\nSunday \n\n\n9:00 – 10:15 am – Yoga \n10:30 – 11:30 am – Breakfast\n11:30 am – 1:30 pm – Class session 3\n1:30 – 3:00 pm – Open Rope Space / personal time\n3:00 – 4:00 pm – Lunch\n4:00 – 6:00 pm – Class session 4 \n6:00 – 7:00 pm – Sauna \n7:30 – 8:30 pm – Dinner\n9:00 – 10:30- pm – Evening fire circle / suspension demo \n11:30 pm – Rest / Quiet Rope Open Space\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMonday \n\n\n9:00 – 10:15 am – Meditation and Sound Healing\n10:30 – 11:30 am – Breakfast\n11:30 am – 1:00 pm – Personal time / Guided Group Rope Activity \n1:00 – 3:00 pm – Class session 5\n3:00 – 4:00 pm – Lunch / Closing circle and sharing\n4:00 pm – Departure\n\n\nFacilitators\n\n \n \n \n \n Sydona\n \n \n \n \n \n Vladimir Kuperman\n \n \n\n\n\nComplete facilitators list TBA \nSydona – In March of 2018 Sydona found her way into the NYC rope scene and never looked back. Her self-awakening began with yoga\, and she holds teacher certificates in both Iyengar and Kundalini yoga. She is a graduate of the Yoga of the Voice program with Silvia Nakkach. She has also trained in Polarity therapy\, massage\, reiki\, sound healing\, shamanic healing and Ayurveda. \nIn 2018 Isabel began building her retreat center ‘Sacha’ in San Marcos La Laguna\, Guatemala. This property and ceremony space was a vision a long time ago that in time manifested into reality. \nWith deep gratitude to her teachers and lineages who carry the sacred medicines\, she believes strongly that the knowledge of the plants needs to be shared and experienced by those called\, so we can ‘wake-up’ and collectively heal the planet one by one. She is a channel or guide who assists and witnesses the healing each person has the capacity to do. She believes everyone and everything on our path is our teacher and that ultimately we find we each have our own guru within. \nFor this weekend\, Isabel is assisted by her husband Ari\, as well as Vladimir.  Together we hold safe space for healing\, unraveling and letting go. SUMMARY:Integration Field - Autumn Equinox Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, September 19 – Sunday\, September 22\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n  \nJoin us for a sacred gathering and prayer to honor the earth’s abundance and express gratitude for the gifts of the season. We will come together to celebrate the light and dark\, feminine and masculine\, embracing the profound symbolism of the equinox as we journey through this time of harvest and transformation. As the earth aligns with the sun\, creating days of balance and harmony\, we will celebrate the harvest of what we have planted\, cultivated\, and nurtured over the Spring and Summer\, both in our outer lives and our inner worlds \n\nSet amidst the rich tapestry of autumn foliage on 67 acres of forest land\, this retreat offers a space to reflect on the past six months\, considering the goals we’ve been working towards and what we have achieved. It is also a time to navigate the inevitable shadow work that arises as we transition into the cooler months with shorter days and longer nights. Through sacred ceremonies\, reflective practices\, and the integration of sound and movement\, we will create space to honor the transitions within us\, embracing the inner work that the equinox calls forth. As we move through this cycle of nature\, we will focus on letting go of what no longer serves us\, setting boundaries for better balance\, and reconnecting with our deeper purpose. Together\, in gratitude for the support of our community\, we will share food\, stories\, and prayers for continued abundance and sustenance through the winter ahead. \n\nRetreat Schedule\nThursday\n\n6:00 pm – Arrivals\n8:00 pm – Dinner\n9:00 pm – Fire Circle\n11:00 pm – Sleep\n\nFriday\n\n8:00 am – Tea & Sound\n9:00 am – Yoga\n9:30 am – Breath + Movement\n10:00 am – Ecstatic Dance\n11:00 am – Brunch\n12:00 pm – Personal Time\n12:30 pm – Song Circle\n2:00 pm – Temazcal\n5:30 pm – Personal Time\n6:00 pm – Dinner\n7:00 pm – Fire Circle\n7:15 pm – Cacao Ceremony\n11:00 pm – Sleep\n\nSaturday\n\n8:00 am – Tea & Sound\n9:00 am – Yoga\n9:30 am – Breath + Movement\n10:00 am – Ecstatic Dance\n11:00 am – Brunch\n12:00 am – Personal Time\n12:30 pm – Mandala Creation\n1:30 pm – Medicine Ceremony\n7:00 pm – Sound Journey\n8:00 pm – Dinner (optional)\n8:00 pm – Tea & Sound\n11:00 pm – Sleep\n\n\n\n\n\nSunday\n\n8:00 am – Tea & Sound\n9:00 am – Yoga\n9:30 am – Breath / Movement\n10:00 am – Ecstatic Dance\n11:00 am – Brunch\n12:00 pm – Personal Time\n12:30 pm – Integration Circle\n2:30 pm – Departure\n\nMonday (Optional day with Limited Capacity: 10)\n\n8:00 am – Medicine ceremony\n1:30 pm – Lunch\n2:30 pm – Personal Time\n3:00 pm – Closing\n4:00 pm – Departure\n\nFacilitators\n\n \n \n \n \n Alex Nero\n \n \n \n \n \n Becki Torres\n \n \n \n \n \n Tamar Ellerton\n \n \n \n \n \n Yuj\n \n \n \n \n \n Jeffrey Connors\n \n \n \n \n \n Oihana\n \n \n \n \n \n Vladimir Kuperman\n \n \n\n\nTo register\nRetreat includes all meals and private bed in our cozy shared dorms.
